About Me
I try to be honest about my faults. I think I kind of creep people out when I'm around them, but I don't know for sure - if I do, let me know, okay? I hate marketing myself, putting forth my best features and hoping they don't get ground away. I believe that even if people see my problems, they'll give me a shot. Sometimes, I'm even right.

I have trouble initiating social contact. It's hard for me to call a friend, or to walk up to someone I know in a crowded setting and say hello. I always feel like an imposition. So, when out, I gravitate to corners and dark places - once I'm invited out of the dark, I generally thrive, at least for a while; well enough people forget my place, my failings.

Funnily enough, put me on stage, I'm better than when I'm off of it. When my role is understood and defined - and given structure - I can embrace it and work within it. Otherwise, I make a better audience member than performer, and society does not reward observers, only actors.

I have a tendency towards wordiness, grandiloquence, and metaphor. I like big or obscure words - but my using them is not anything other than glory in my own passions, and an attempt to more finely define my statements. Sometimes I get too clever for my own good - but I'm always the first to tear myself down.

In creative endeavors, I pursue anything with narrative. I play and design role-playing games, I'm studying improvisational theatre (and regular theatre), I'm working on writing fiction and of course I read it as well. I was also was a poet as a teenager, and apparently can still churn out a good one when inspired. I sang in high school choir, and still enjoy doing it - but it's hard to find secular outlets for that experience. Karaoke, maybe? Otherwise, I have an interest in hypnosis, both for clinical and entertainment purposes, and have a certification as well.

In the summer of 2008 I should finally finish a bachelor's degree I started in the fall of 1995 - mathematics. I've almost always been a double major, but the second major has changed - from journalism, to creative writing, to philosophy, and finally economics. I have no idea what I will be doing with that degree, though my options are pretty open.

I've been homeless, I've traveled around the country on a greyhound bus, I've lived all around the country and visited three continents so far. Now, I am a homeowner. I had brain surgery when I was 28, I've been in 3 motorcycle accidents as well as a moped crash, and I've had a vasectomy. I ride the motorcycle, or a bus, and feel Phoenix gets a bit too much rain, and gets a bit chilly in the wintertime.

In June of 2007, I had brain surgery from exhibiting symptoms, having to traverse across Morocco and Spain to get to the U.S. In December of 2007 I needed more.

I don't drink or smoke, but I don't mind when other people do either one. I don't really observe holidays, including birthdays and anniversaries, and am somewhat irreverent about traditions in general. I think there's not enough blasphemy and sacrilege in the world, and feel the best response to tragedy is laughter. I'm against making more children, finding conception morally ambiguous at best, but I support the caretaking of all children that already exist.

And that's a brief overview of me. If you still want to talk, drop me a line.
