There is a lot of stupidity and absurdity in this world.  This shouldn't be surprising because there's a lot of idiots in the world.  I accept that and except for the occasional gripe I generally try to leave it alone.  However, one thing  I just can't let go is the absurdity that is "the kissy face".

To those who perform this action regularly I have to ask - Do you have any idea how stupid you look?

Seriously, you look like a retard.  And by retarded I don't mean mentally handicapped.  Mentally handicapped persons have a physical issue that causes them to struggle with activities the rest of us find easy.  They deserve respect in their struggle.

Kissy face people don't deserve respect.  They deserve to be mocked and ridiculed.  They consciously and purposely do something they should know makes them look stupid in an effort to blend in with the crowd.  Sure, it might have been funny the first couple times, and it may have raised a giggle the next few times, but now you're just doing what you've seen everyone and their mother do.  Calling them sheep isn't harsh enough.  Even sheep know better than to make kissy faces.

For those of you who were blessed with a physical appearance that draws comparisons to the angelic and think this somehow exempts you I have news for you.  Doesn't matter how cute you are.  Kissy face trumps cuteness.  The most beautiful woman on earth, when making the kissy face, loses all attractiveness the instant that shutter opens.  Think of it this way - If you put on baggy clothes, wore no makeup, didn't wash or brush your hair and added acne do you think you'd still be considered attractive?  Well, kissy face effectively cancels out all those careful ministrations you perform every morning.  You now look like one of the ugly people.  Good job.

I don't know when this ridiculous fad started, nor can I look back at a particular person and blame them (I really want to).  I don't know why it has continued despite the obvious stupidity involved.  What I do know is that it needs to stop.  We've all seen it happen.  Many of us know people who've done it.  Some of you may even have been guilty of it yourself.  That's ok.  If you've been stupid you still have time to change.  Just don't do it again.  If you see someone start to pucker up in front of a camera, smack them.  They'll thank you later.  If you see an example of kissy face on the internet, find some way to mock the people in the picture so they know how dumb they've been.  People must be told about this scurge.

Stop the idiocy.  Stop the ugliness.  Stop the kissy face.
