Last Grindhouse Redux Show of 2007

Plus all Grindhouse Redux T-shirts and Ban 1 DVDS on sale for $10 each!  Friday show only!

BODY PARTS A PLENTY IN EURO/AMERICAN SLASHER DOUBLE-HEADER AT CHANDLER CINEMAS

Scream and scream again! The Midnite Movie Mamacita will make you jump out of your seats and skin with two oldies-but-goodies from the Grindhouse Redux vaults on Friday and Saturday evening, December 21 and 22.

First up is Anguish (1987), a blood-curdling Euro slasher made on a shoestring budget by Spanish auteur Bigas Luna. Anguish is a surreal tale of a deranged momma’s boy and his violent quest of becoming a doctor. His momma (played by Zelda Rubinstein, the creepy little lady from Poltergeist) stars in this psychedelic splatter-fest. It will be presented in a rare 35mm print at 9 pm.

Next, more blood and gore, this time from the home soil with Blood Rage (1987). Terry and Todd are twins. Todd is blamed and mistakenly put away while his maniacal brother Terry runs lose after a killing at a drive-in. Terry can’t stop killing and goes on an all-out murder spree resulting in some catastrophic and gory consequences. The bloody mess plays at 11 pm, in 35mm—the way it was meant to be seen!

GRINDHOUSE REDUX - Friday 12/21 $6 Double Feature - Slasher
Anguish 9pm
Blood Rage 11pm
GRINDHOUSE REDUX - Saturday 12/22 $6 Double Feature - Slasher
Anguish 5 & 9pm

25 shows and 2 years of B-Movie Madness!!

The Paper Heart will forever close it's doors at the end of December and we are saying goodbye with style and grace....

NOT!!!

Valley B-Movie host the Midnite Movie Mamacita will deliver the cinematic trash masterpiece “Black Devil Doll from Hell” (1984), in her last show at the Paper Heart Arts Venue (750 NW Grand Ave, Phoenix, AZ), Thursday December 13th. The Paper Heart will close its doors due to financial constraints after a final showcase on December 29th 2007.

Over 2 years and 25 shows the Midnite Movie Mamacita has shocked titillated and teased viewers at the Paper Heart and for this final screening she delivers a film generally regarded as the world's worst shot-on-video blaxploitation puppet-porn abomination Black Devil Doll from Hell. From the twisted auteur Chester Novell Turner the film follows devout churchgoing Shirley L. Jones and her sinful quest for “wood” in the form of a perverted puppet with cornrows. Combining the worst (and most hilarious) aspects of The Exorcist, The Devil in Miss Jones and a Grade Z puppet show; it’s the perfect way to sound-off the B-Movie Babes possession of the Paper Heart’s Thursday evenings.

Featuring Another sneak peek at the Local Production Nightmare Alley, Playing Will be A Short Film Called "The Great Damone". Movie Stars Vincint Bocchini W/ Thee Unfortunates & Tana Satana Nunzilla. Giveaways and games will be part of the evening’s activities as the Midnite Movie Mamacita invites everyone to come and celebrate B-Movies in her favorite Downtown Arts Venue for the last time! Doors open at 8pm and the film will start at 9pm. $5 donation is requested, a portion of which will benefit a local animal welfare agency.

This time the Midnite Movie Mamacita, Valley B-movie maniac, really goes out of her cabeza by hosting the Saturday December 1 Noche de Luchadores (Night of the Mexican Masked Wrestlers), a mixed-media madhouse involving South of the Border ring barbarians both on and off the screen. The action kicks off at the Chandler Cinemas at 8 pm, with in an hour-long in-lobby wrestling card featuring masked marauders from XJAM, the outrageous indie wrestling troupe whose you-gotta-see-to-it-to-disbelieve-it exhibition will be highlighted by a no-holds-barred masked all-female bout. . .with a squadron of roller derby dolls as referees!

At 9 pm, the action moves onto the big-screen with a rare 35 mm screening of 1973’s Santo Vs the Voodoo Women, starring the legendary Santo ("the Mexican Hulk Hogan"), this time squaring off against (among other things) a voodoo queen, wrestling zombies, bad Seventies, fashion, nuclear annihilation and, alas, a dubbed French soundtrack. Fortunately, the soundtrack will be turned off during the screening, allowing local improv comedy troupes Phoenix Neutrino Project and Galapagos to ad lib dialog and sound effects a la Mystery Science Theater 3000.

But hang on to your guacamole--there’s more! Assuming the Midnite Movie Mamacita hasn’t yet beaten you to submission, the show ends with a post-screening performance by Valley garage/surf rockers The Rebel Set.

Chandler Cinemas is located at 2140 N. Arizona Ave, Chandler, AZ 85224 (in the rear of the Target Shopping Center) at the NW corner of Arizona Ave and Warner Roads, 480-821-1605. Admission is $10. Children 10 and under are free for this event! Sorry, CASH ONLY, no ATM onsite.
